Cards Today

First of all, thanks for all the comments about the bedroom. After all that,I feel the red is going to be too dark even on one wall so going for green instead. The room doesn't get any sun so I think it needs a more zingy colour. My Son said he's happy for me to decide (mad fool) I'll post again once it's painted.

My shoulder is starting to feel something towards normal again now so i'm trying to do more. The Physio is helping, even though it's painful so things are looking up. I'm going to make the most of being at home now as full time work will soon kick back in!I could get used to being at home more and going back to work is going to be hard.

I've made a couple of cards today, very different to each other. The red one is for my SIL birthday this weekend so i hope she likes it. It's good to be crafting again and having lots of time to do it in too, maybe having an operation wasn't all bad after all :)

Colour or White?

Gosh, I can't believe it's been a whole week since I last blogged, someone is deffo stealing the days from me!
We decided to decorate our Sons (19 years old) bedroom for him while he is away at uni. It's not a very big room and he had all the walls white before, with black curtains, bedding & bits & bobs.
Now do we just paint it all white again as he liked it that way, or are we brave and put some colour in there? I have put a match pot of deep red on one wall to see what it looks like but still can't decide. It looks bright red in the photo but it's more of a deep, claret red in real life. HELP I just don't know if it will close the room in too much as it's not a very light room. What do you recon ladies? I'm more temped to leave it all white at the moment as that's safer, but is safer better? If we add the colour, which wall do we put it on? Be great to hear what you lot think?
I think i'm getting worse at making decisions the older I get, I used to just bowl in and do stuff but not any more:(

No crafting done this week but maybe tomorrow:)

Slimming & Completed

Well first of all I've been very brave and returned to Slimming World after an 8 week, gap due to ill health and operation. I was sooooo scared and nearly didn't go as I knew I'd put loads of the 21Llbs back on, that I'd already lost. NOT SO, I'd gained 4Llbs which I was thrilled about as thought it would be at least 14Llbs!!!! What a releif to get that out of the way and get back on the right road, even if it is a pain. Mad eh? to be so pleased about putting 4Llbs on lol.

I've also completed an 8x8 DCWV, All Dressed Up Album and Papers that's been hanging around for................ well, months now. I've cheated really as the photos are all 8x6 so not much room to scrap, although i'm really pleased with it. It looks very different to my other albums but that is a good thing, right? I love finishing a project, feels great:)

Sunday 17 January 2010

Not been a great couple of days due to the pain in my shoulder and got physio again tomorrow so that will help..............not!
At least the snow has finally gone after a lot of rain so walking about will be easier now. We have had snow around since 17th December and although it's pretty it's been around far too long. The house still seem quiet after Will returning to uni but we will get used to it. I spent some time giving my craft room a good tidy up and will take some photos soon. I've also made a couple of cards just to stop me going stir crazy! I'm enjoying popping into your blogs too and picking up tips and gossip. Thanks for such pretty things to look at:)

LOVE

My daughter came home from town yesterday with a lovely present for me, she said it was to cheer me up after my operation. It's the word LOVE in red china letters, bless her. It looks great in the hall way and I was so touched that she thought to do it. She is still at school doing A levels so not earning much. Thanks sooo much Abi, you are a sweetie. It even made the visit to the physio not so bad :-)

I had a really good sort out in my craft room and finished an 8x8 album that's been laying around for ages, which feels good. I really want to complete all my unfinished projects this year so at least i've made a start. I found the following LO that a did a while ago but thought i'd share it as it's very fitting with our weather right now.

Cards to share

Well I got my bum into gear today and made some cards. The pain in my shoulder is still really bad and I have to face Physio again tomorrow so I needed something to take my mind off it.
Just had a play with Magnolia stamps,Prisma colours and scraps of paper. Maybe not the best ever but I enjoyed doing them. It seems odd being at home and doing things as and when I like as I'm used to working full time, quite nice in a way.

Physio

I had to go and have Physio on my shoulder today, after my operation last Thursday. Phew it was soooo painful, i knew it would be uncomfortable but boy I wasn't ready for that!!!!!
I guess it can only get better from here but it looks like it will be a long road. Other than that not much done today as the physio wiped me out. I hope to try making some cards tomorrow so I feel i'm doing something and not just sitting around and can then share some photos with you all.

A really big thank you to Linda for helping me to sort out the problem with my comments, great you sorted it for me so people can now leave comments if they want to. You are very kind linda

Son gone back to Uni

Well my lovely Son returned to his Uni in Exeter today:-( It already feels very odd without him, quiet but tidy lol. It's been lovely having him home for Christmas but it's gone really quickly, he was ready to go back though I think and that's the way it should be. He is having such a great time there, studying Economics & Econometrics. Well I think a bit of studying goes on inbetween the parties! A funny old day really, it really feels like Christmas is all over with now and the house is back to normal, if normal is a word you can use for this house.
The photo is of the kids at Christmas, just so you know who i've been talking about.

Thanks for the lovely ladies on UKS still trying to help me sort my blog, if anyone has any ideas why people can't leave comments still please let me know so I can sort it. Thanks:)

Pink Gem Candy

This may be tricky for me, adding a link in as I am a bit blonde but Love these stamps so much I must have a go.
Pink Gem are offering Blog Candy on their site I hope this link works. I had a few stamps from them over Christmas and they are really lovely so enter and good luck

Operation went ahead

Well, after waiting around all day on Thursday my operation finally went ahead. I got to the hospital at 11am and was asked to put my gown on at 4pm!! I was beginning to think they may run out of time and cancel but thank goodness it did happen. I was put out for around an hour and half and the used key hole surgery on my shoulder. It turns out my shoulder was frozen and the surgeon had the cut the capsules surounding my shoulder joint to allow me move movement. i've already had physio and it's b****y painful but at least it's been done, which has to be a good thing. I have loads of exercises to do which I must keep up with and will be off work for some weeks yet but I guess it's all positive from now. No photos to share today but hope to make some more cards next week as it's my left arm in a sling so hope I can work one handed!

I'm off to look at my settings again as it looks like people still can't leave comments:(

Wednesday 6 January 2010

Well just a quick post showing a birthday card I made this afternoon, I made three in fact but they are very similar so just sharing one. I used prisma colouring pens on the lovely stamp from Pink Gems, love their stamps and so cheap & loads of sickles! I may not be able to blog for a couple of days due to my operation so added this in as an extra today.

Thanks to all the lovely ladies on UKS for your help setting this blog up.

Well we woke up to lots of snow today. Schools are mostly shut so everyone is enjoying a snow day:) it looks soooo pretty but such a pain to get about in! I also have a food shop due and no sign of it yet so who knows if it will arrie or not?

I'm due to have a Rotarcuff repair on my shoulder tomorrow and so I'm keeping everything crossed that it's not cancelled due to the weather. I've been waiting over a year now so really want it to happen. I've been quite run down over Christmas and have stayed inside to get well enough for the operation so will be fed up if it gets cancelled.

I plan to make some cards today so hope to share those later but untill then I hope you all enjoy the snow:)

My Lovely Boys

Well not much has happened since yesterday as i'm at home under the weather still, trying to get well so the operation on my arm can go ahead as planned on Thursdy. I thought I'd share photos of my lovely cats, well i think they are lovely anyway. They are brothers and eleven years old now but still make us laugh every day as they are both so daft. They both love to sleep in my craft room so I have to remember not to leave cards or layouts on the work top for them to curl up on!!

Scary stuff this

Well, here goes, my first post ever on a blog. Not sure if I'll manage to keep up with it but wanted to have a go. It's been a lovely Christmas, busy with illness around but good all the same. We also had my DH's 50th around christmas so that that was great too. We had a party and got to see loads of good friends and all our family too. I made muffins as his cake this year, which looked very pretty.

I'll maybe start this blog by sharing my craft room, I'm very lucky to have the spare the bedroom handed over just for my crafts. It really needs new storage fitted but the photos show the room as it is now in all it's glory.
